Acceptable Use Policy
Last updated 4 October 2026
Openhouse links are public. These rules apply to everything shared with Openhouse, including anything a coding tool shares for you. They're part of our Terms of Service.
Don't share anything that
- is illegal in the UK or where you are
- sexually exploits or endangers children. We report this to the authorities.
- is sexually explicit
- imitates another person, company or website, or asks for passwords, payment details or personal information under false pretences
- is a scam, a fake shop or any other kind of fraud
- contains or spreads malware, or helps anyone break into, attack or disrupt other systems
- infringes someone's copyright, trade marks or other rights
- harasses, threatens or bullies anyone, or promotes violence, terrorism or hatred
- publishes someone's personal information without a lawful reason
- sells or promotes illegal goods, drugs or weapons
Don't use Openhouse to
- host downloads, streaming, file sharing or other large or sustained traffic
- run a proxy, VPN or relay for other traffic
- send spam, or link to Openhouse from spam
- probe, scan or attack our systems or anyone else's
- get around a suspension, seat limits or our technical limits
Openhouse is for showing work in progress. It isn't designed to host live services that people depend on, and we may limit links that are used that way.
Your responsibility
- You're responsible for everything reachable through your links, whoever started the share.
- Anything your project serves is public while it's live. Keep passwords, API keys, admin pages and private data out of it.
- If your project collects personal data from visitors, you're responsible for handling it lawfully.
What we can do
We don't check what people share, but we act on what we find or are told about. If something breaks these rules, puts people at risk, or we're legally required to, we can pause or remove the link, withdraw the link name, or suspend or close the account, with or without notice. We may report illegal content to the police or other authorities. Where it's safe and lawful to, we'll tell you what we did and why.
Reporting a link
Use the report form, or email openhouse@thedoidea.co with "Report" in the subject. Include the link, what's wrong with it, and when you saw it. Every paused page also has a "Report this page" link.
For copyright or trade mark complaints, also tell us what the work is, that you own it or act for the owner, and how to contact you.
We look at reports of illegal or harmful content as quickly as we can.
For visitors
Pages at addresses ending in openhouse.host, other than this website, are made and controlled by Openhouse users, not by us, and we don't check them. Be careful with anything that asks for passwords or payment details, and report anything that looks wrong.
Changes
We may update this policy as Openhouse changes. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
