Terms of Service
Last updated 2 October 2026
These terms cover your use of the Openhouse app for Mac and the links it creates. Please read them before you subscribe.
Who we are
Openhouse is provided by DO IDEA CO LTD ("we", "us"), a company registered in England and Wales with company number 12009810. You can reach us at openhouse@thedoidea.co.
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.
What Openhouse does
Openhouse finds web projects running on your Mac and, when you press play, makes them reachable at a public web address. The project keeps running on your Mac. When you pause, your Mac sleeps, or a share timer runs out, the address shows a paused page instead.
Because projects are served from your own computer, a link only works while your Mac is on, connected to the internet and sharing. We don't guarantee any particular uptime.
Free trial
Your first hour of sharing is free and needs no account or payment details. Only time a project is live counts towards the hour.
Subscriptions and seats
- Openhouse is sold per seat, monthly or yearly. The current price is shown on our website and at checkout, including VAT where it applies.
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel.
- You can cancel at any time. You keep access until the end of the period you've paid for.
- The person who buys a subscription can add seats, remove seats and send invite links. Changes in seat numbers are charged or credited proportionally by Paddle.
- If we change the price, we'll tell you at least 30 days before it applies to your next renewal.
Your projects and your responsibility
Your projects remain yours. We don't copy or store them. You're responsible for what you share and who you share it with, including any personal data your project shows to visitors.
You must not use Openhouse to share anything that:
- impersonates another person, company or website, or collects passwords or payment details under false pretences
- distributes malware or attacks other systems
- is illegal, infringes someone else's rights, or harasses or endangers anyone
- sends very large volumes of traffic or media in a way that disrupts the service for others
We may pause or remove a link, or suspend an account, if we reasonably believe these rules are being broken. Where we can, we'll tell you why.
Our software
We grant you a personal, non-transferable licence to use the Openhouse app while you have a trial or an active seat. You may not resell the service or try to bypass seat limits.
Liability
Openhouse is provided as it is. We do our best to keep it working well, but we can't promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. To the extent the law allows, we're not liable for indirect losses or for losses caused by the content of projects you share. Our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
Nothing in these terms limits your statutory rights as a consumer, or our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
Ending these terms
You can stop using Openhouse and cancel at any time. We may end these terms if you seriously break them, or if we stop offering Openhouse, in which case we'll refund any unused prepaid time.
Changes
We may update these terms. If a change matters, we'll let you know in the app or by email before it takes effect.
Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you're a consumer living elsewhere in the UK or in the EU, you keep the protection of your local law and may bring proceedings where you live.
